We’ve been shortlisted for an MPA award!
We are over the moon to find out that our Armchair Adventures podcast has been shortlisted for Best Podcast at the Manchester Publicity Association (MPA) Inspiration Awards.
And inspiration is what our interactive children’s podcast is all about. Since the very first lockdown in 2020, we’ve worked alongside numerous collaborators to create amazing and interactive stories of the imagination for primary school age youngsters.
What started off as an idea with our Hearts & Minds group, after we had moved our weekly sessions to Zoom during lockdown 1, has grown and developed enormously. We have used our stories and our lifetime experiences to bring in new voices, new community groups, new writers and musicians.
Since the first episode was launched, our listeners have used their imaginations to visit magical places, meet extraordinary people and understand the world a little better. We have used stories, music and fun to connect people across different generations and different areas as we take part in a collective adventure.
In our podcast, we have been to the Queen’s Royal Garden party, been to a music festival and a star-studded showbiz adventure. We’ve travelled to see the Northern Lights, been on a superhero adventure and a magical treetop walk – and much much more.
You can watch our video about how we made Armchair Adventures on our Made by Mortals You Tube page.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all of the community co-creators and partner organisations we have worked with (especially our fantastic Hearts & Minds group) as well as the professional musicians, writers, podcast engineers and marketers. This was a truly collaborative project and we’re thrilled to have been shortlisted for this brilliant award.
Series one of the podcast series has so far reached 25,000 listens – and continues to grow.
We have already begun working on series 2 of the Armchair Adventures podcast, so these are exciting times indeed!
The MPA is a not-for-profit organisation, which brings together the creative industry in Manchester. You can find out more about the MPA Inspiration Awards.
The final winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on Thursday, October 21. Watch this space and we’ll update you on any further news!
