Happy New Year, Adventurers! What better way to kick off 2025 than with a brand new series of Armchair Adventures?
We’re so excited to welcome you back to the Armchair Adventures travel agency for Series 6, and we’re starting with something extra special. For the first time ever, this adventure is told across three action-packed parts, bringing even more join-in fun, imagination and excitement than ever before.
Our latest adventure, which is out now, sees head travel agent, Connie, helping her friend Teresa, who’s feeling a little overwhelmed by modern technology. Teresa wants to learn how to use apps on her smartphone, especially the NHS App, but she’s not quite sure where to begin. Before long, Connie and her lovely customers, along with our brilliant join-in-at-home adventurers, shrink down and travel right inside Teresa’s phone.
Together, they explore colourful icons, dive into the app store and even meet a helpful (and slightly overenthusiastic!) digital assistant called CICI. But just as things start to click, disaster strikes. With the phone battery running low, one wrong tap sends everyone tumbling into an unexpected computer game called The Slime Zone, complete with bubbling slime, snapping crocodiles and a very hungry slime monster.
“Well we have to finish level one so we can save and exit, to get out of here! That means jumping across the bubbling slime pit on the rope swing…”
The adventure continues as the gang work together to escape the game and get back to the phone. You can look forward to:
- Escaping ‘The Slime Zone’ with teamwork, problem-solving and plenty of join-in moments
- Connie learning the importance of slowing down and explaining things clearly
- Teresa growing in confidence as she practises using apps for herself
- A visit to amusic-making app, where a catchy song helps everyone remember the steps
The adventure wraps up with laughter, learning and a lovely reminder of how important it is for younger and older generations to help each other out, especially when it comes to technology.
