Made By Mortals ‘Bring Lived Experience to Life’ through immersive audio stories, films, music, theatre, and interactive workshops. All our work is coproduced by University researchers, partners in health & social care, charities & other VCSFE sector organisations, professional artists and diverse groups of people who share their lived experience to improve the lives of others.
Lived experience to create social change
Since 2017, Made By Mortals has been ‘Bringing Lived Experience to Life’ through engaging audio stories, films, music, theatre and interactive workshops.
We use participatory arts and co-production to bring people together from diverse communities in Greater Manchester and the UK. Thanks to their willingness to share their lived experiences and imaginations, we create fictional stories and characters to vividly highlight health and social care issues.
Our productions are built on unique experiences and perspectives, create positive social impact and connect deeply with worldwide audiences. Our art doesn’t end with the final curtain call; it leaves a profound and lasting legacy.
Who we work with
We support researchers and research teams to make the research process and outputs more accessible, inclusive, creative, and beneficial to the communities that matter to them.
We support charities to amplify the voices of their service users within their organisations and out towards the public.
We support the statutory sector to mobilise lived experience knowledge throughout their workforce and use it to influence changes in practice, policy, and strategy.
At the heart of everything we do are the extraordinary people who bravely share their stories. Regardless of their artistic of production experience, they team up with our world-class artists, University research teams and other health and social care partners. Together, we co-produce projects with purpose and passion.
