In this month’s episode the Armchair Adventures podcast
We’re joined by Lynda (with a y!) from Rochdale. A few weeks before the first lockdown began, Lynda started work as a caregiver. She goes around houses, helping older people keep their independence by making food, doing bits of shopping or even just having a chat and a brew! Connie is amazed and thinks she is a hero, but Lynda isn’t convinced.
“I don’t know about that. But it’s been nice to make a difference.”
Joined by the rest of her lovely customers, Connie wants to show Lynda just how big of a superhero she is, even if she’s refusing to admit it. Together they discuss what makes a real life hero: strength, compassion, determination, patience. And create their own superhero identities, including Spidergran!
When the team finds themselves in Lynda’s underground superhero hideout, there’s a terrible storm, making the whole area unsafe. They must evacuate and find higher ground, and discover that being a hero is much more than silly costumes and superpowers.
